Iowa Moderate Risk Today

There is a Moderate Risk for severe weather today in parts of Iowa. This includes Ames, Mason City, Fort Dodge, Ledyard, and Boone. Farther south, there is an Enhanced Risk in Texas that includes Dallas-Fort Worth and Waco.

All modes of severe weather are possible in the Moderate Risk area including the threat for large to very large hail, damaging wind gusts, and tornadoes (a few of which could be strong). The highest threat for tornadoes includes far eastern Nebraska, western and central Iowa, and far southern Minnesota. This area includes Omaha and Lincoln, NE, Des Moines and Sioux City, IA, and Worthington and Albert Lea, MN.
