Severe Weather Likely in Northern MN
Severe thunderstorms are likely today in parts of northern Minnesota. An Enhanced Risk is in place from Fargo, ND/Moorehead, MN northeastward to the Canadian border.
Storms are expected to develop later this afternoon or evening in an environment favorable to supercells. Damaging wind gusts will be the primary threat.
The severe weather risk will stick in the Upper Midwest tomorrow. Storms are expected to form along a cold front moving across Minnesota on Friday afternoon. These storms could initially be capable of producing tornadoes and very large hail. Storms could possibly form a bowing line and produced widespread damaging wind gusts. Model trends will continue to be monitored.
