Southern Severe Threat
An active end to 2020 expected for parts of the western Gulf Coast states as severe weather is likely today. An Enhanced Risk stretches from far east Texas into Louisiana and southwestern Mississippi.
This risk area includes Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and Lake Charles, LA and Beaumont and Port Arthur, TX. All modes of severe weather are possible with any storms that develop today and tonight. There is a 10% tornado threat in these areas:
A Tornado Watch has already been issued for parts of Texas until 3 PM CT.
