Southeast Tornado Threat
The severe weather threat has shifted eastward today, stretching from the Gulf Coast into the Mid-Atlantic. This is the same system that dropped several reported tornadoes across Mississippi yesterday afternoon. One storm-related death was reported in Alabama.
An Enhanced Risk is in place today from the Florida panhandle into southern North Carolina. This includes Charlotte and Raleigh, NC, Tallahassee, FL, Columbia and Charleston, SC, and Savannah, GA.
Damaging wind gusts will be the primary threat with today’s severe weather. A few tornadoes are also possible, especially in the Enhanced Risk area.
Tornado Watches are already in place this morning for a good chunk of the Southeast.
