Mid Atlantic Damaging Wind Threat
There is an Enhanced Risk of severe weather today for parts of the Mid Atlantic stretching from southern Virginia to eastern Georgia. This includes Charlotte and Raleigh, NC, Virginia Beach and Norfolk, VA, and Columbia and Charleston, SC.

The primary threat from today’s severe thunderstorms will be the potential for damaging wind gusts. The SPC says, “multiple MCSs should develop during the afternoon…supporting a primary threat for several swaths of wind damage.”
