Moderate Risk for severe weather in North Dakota

There is a Moderate Risk for severe weather this afternoon and evening across far northern North Dakota. An Enhanced Risk farther to the south includes Fargo, Bismarck and Minot in North Dakota as well as Moorhead in Minnesota and Aberdeen in South Dakota.

The primary risk with today’s storm will be damaging wind gusts and large hail. A few tornadoes are possible as well. In the Moderate Risk area, very large hail will be possible and a few tornadoes, some strong, are likely.

This complex of storms will move into northwestern Minnesota late tonight. Widespread strong winds could be possible.
